Global One empowers sustainable growth in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, the intersection of South Asia and East Asia, roads to prosperity, bridges to happiness and energy engineering facilities are springing up like mushrooms after spring rain… These meticulous "fine brush paintings" are all the fruitful achievements of the China-Bangladesh joint initiative of Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). With the cooperation opportunities brought by the BRI, Global One International Logistics Co., Ltd. has also utilized its diversified and specialized advantages to contribute Chinese strength to the sustainable development of Bangladesh.

Global One International Logistics Co., Ltd. is an international integrated logistics enterprise established in China, with business scope covering international multi-modal transport, chartering, packaging, port transit, customs clearance and inspection, and logistics consulting services for large international engineering projects along the BRI countries. It has been operating in Bangladesh, the country at the intersection of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, for many years, providing international transportation services for many key energy projects of the BRI. Global One has also established a local company in Bangladesh with the abundant local resources.

Adhering to the spirit of Chinese enterprises, ensuring the high-quality and high-standard completion of projects has always been the guiding principle of Global One. Global One has undertaken the core equipment - single point mooring system for the Bangladesh Single Point Mooring Project, which is a key project supported by the Chinese government upon the request of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2014. After the completion of this project, the time for unloading and transporting 100,000 tons of crude oil has been shortened from the original 11 days to about 48 hours. This achievement has greatly improved production efficiency, avoided environmental pollution, and significantly alleviated the difficulties faced by Bangladesh's only refinery - Eastern Refinery Limited. In implementing this project, Global One overcame the harsh sea conditions in Bangladesh, safely transported the equipment to the designated sea area, and successfully completed the offshore towing service for the Single Point Mooring Project trial operation, becoming the tug service provider with experience in executing Single Point Mooring Project in the Bangladesh sea area. The first successful oil injection of this project is an important milestone in China-Bangladesh energy cooperation, and a major achievement in the energy cooperation between the two countries under the BRI.

The 2×660MW Coal-fired Power Plant Project in Patuakhali, southern Bangladesh, is an important project for the cooperation between China and Bangladesh in the field of energy and power under the BRI. After the full commissioning of this project, it will provide about 8.58 billion kWh of electricity to Bangladesh annually, greatly easing the tight power supply in the region and providing vital support for local economic development and people's living standards, as well as the stable and reliable power supply to the local grid. As the provider of the logistics and transportation services of this project, Global One has cumulatively shipped over 150,000 freight tons of break-bulk cargo and more than 100 containers since the first batch of cargo shipped in 2021.

To meet the growing power load and grid reliability needs in the Dhaka region, the Dhaka Power Grid Expansion and Upgrade Project in Bangladesh was conducted. This project is the largest inter-governmental power cooperation project since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh. After the completion of the project, it will help promote the upgrade of Bangladesh's traditional power grid to a smart grid, making the grid system better serve and benefit the residents of the Dhaka region. Heavy transformers are an important component of the Dhaka Power Grid Expansion and Upgrade Project. As one of the qualified international logistics suppliers for this project, Global One has delivered 13 heavy transformers so far, along with over 200 TEU of containers and more than 300 reels of high-voltage power cables. Currently, this project is still in full swing. Global One remains its focus on providing high-quality and high-standard services, paving the way for this BRI cooperation and development project.

In addition to economic cooperation with local enterprises in Bangladesh, Global One has been adhering to the people-centered principle and shouldering the mission of a large State-owned enterprise to promote the well-being of the Bangladeshi people. It has actively participated in public welfare activities in the region. Many Bangladeshi staff have been employed by the company to help the improvement of the local employment. At the same time, Global One has also supported the local education sector. Kalapara Primary School, located near the Payra Port project site in southern Patuakhali, Bangladesh, was lack of teaching facilities. After learning about this situation, Global One made donations to the school, sending new books and other essential educational materials to the children in that school.
