Xi'an Jiaotong University launches renovation of Historic Xianzi Hall

On September 8, Xi'an Jiaotong University held a ceremony at its Xingqing Campus to conclude the "Wutong Teachers' Voice · Nurturing Jiaotong University" project and to launch the renovation of Xianzi Hall.

The event, presided over by Wang Huan, deputy party secretary, featured prominent attendees including President Zhang Liqun and representatives from various university departments and schools.

The ceremony began with a poetry recital, "New Journey, Echoes of Love," by the university's student art troupe. Officials from the Education Foundation outlined the renovation plan for Xianzi Hall, a historic building on the Xingqing Campus. Funded by faculty donations raised for the university's 130th anniversary, the renovation aims to preserve the building's heritage while enhancing its functionality.

A video titled "Voices of Teachers, Traces of Nurturing" was screened, highlighting the progress of the "Wutong Teachers' Voice" initiative. This project, driven by faculty donations, focuses on preserving the cultural heritage of the campus and uniting teachers' dedication to the university.

Donating faculty members Gao Hong and Liu Wenfeng shared their aspirations to protect the university's cultural legacy and perpetuate its spirit. The ceremony also honored units with the Excellent Organization Award for their outstanding efforts in mobilizing donations.

In his speech, President Zhang Liqun expressed gratitude to the faculty for their generosity and commitment. He emphasized that the renovation of Xianzi Hall symbolizes not just a structural upgrade, but also the continuation of the university's spirit. The university is committed to utilizing donations effectively, ensuring high-quality renovation, and maximizing the educational impact of the project to support its development.

The event marked the culmination of the "Wutong Teachers' Voice" project and the official start of Xianzi Hall's renovation, underscoring the collective effort to preserve Xi'an Jiaotong University's cultural heritage.
