On April 23, the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as the Optics Valley of China, or OVC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wuhan Foreign Languages School to collaborate on educational programs in the Wuhan New City.

This agreement covers high school, middle school, elementary school, and international school projects.

Previously, Optics Valley of China had signed a new cooperative educational program with Central China Normal University.

As part of the collaboration with Wuhan Foreign Languages School, the planned international school will have 60 classes, and the main building has already been constructed up to the fifth floor. It is scheduled to officially open in the fall of 2025.

By integrating high-quality educational resources, Optics Valley's newly established schools have rapidly improved their educational standards, propelling its basic education level to the forefront in Wuhan. A total of 78 schools have been planned for layout in the OVC area of Wuhan New City. Currently, 27 schools have been completed, with nine schools under construction.

Presently, the valley has a total of 222 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens. The total enrollment is 155,000 students, with 14,000 teaching faculties and administrative staff members. Additionally, there are two schools for the children of foreign nationals.
