On April 9, the new campus of Optics Valley Ulink School was completed and put into use in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), and the fourth OVC Science, Education, and Innovation Summit Forum was held at the school.

David Cardwell, an academician of the Royal Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of Cambridge, and Liu Jingnan, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former president of Wuhan University, were among the experts who visited the campus to engage in discussions with both teachers and students. Nobel laureate in physiology or medicine, Thomas Südhof, participated in the forum online.

Südhof believes that scientists seek not only to publish papers in academic journals but, more importantly, to discover whether their findings lead to a new paradigm that will be widely followed by others, or whether they solve a practical problem.

David Cardwell delivered a speech on the topic of "How the University of Cambridge and the University of Hong Kong collaborate to cultivate technological and innovative talents across institutions".

On what should education reply to the era of AI, Robert Christensen, CEO of Vanperpetual Education, believes that it is pointless to be obsessed with the threat posed by AI. Education has never been so close to artificial general intelligence (AGI) as it is now, thus it would be more productive for educators to familiarize themselves with AGI together with their students.

Christensen also stated that top enterprises will identify what the market really needs. This feedback will then be passed down to the best universities and high schools, so that their students understand the current employment market before even entering the workforce.
