On Dec 25, the inaugural meeting of the Optics Valley Charity Federation was held in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as the Optics Valley of China, or OVC).

During the meeting, the first chairman, vice chairman, secretary-general, directors, and supervisors of the federation were elected. Nine companies, including Hubei Century Network Technology Inc and Kingsoft Co, were selected as the first board members.

At the meeting, the federation, in collaboration with OVC's women's federation, launched its first public welfare project: the women and children care fund.

The Optics Valley Charity Federation is a non-profit social organization that is composed of enthusiastic citizens, businesses, and other organizations in the valley. It is committed to providing various public welfare services and charitable activities, such as poverty alleviation, disaster relief, and public assistance.
