The 2023 Optics Valley Marathon is sponsored by Jiyue – an automotive robot brand owned by China's automaker Geely, and will officially open at 7:30 am on Oct 28. The T-shirts and medals for runners have been released.

The T-shirt is orange in color, representing light and hope. A calla lily-shaped building symbolizing the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) is on the front, while the marathon's English slogan "Run towards the World" is printed in blue on the back, representing technology and contrasting sharply with the orange.

The design of the medal also demonstrates the valley's other landmarks and pillar industries.

A total of 995 medics, 25 medical stations, and 48 ambulances will be in service that day. In addition, the marathon works with 13 universities and has recruited 4,500 of their students as volunteers. They recently underwent training and will offer cloth keeping, energy supplying, track checking and other services for marathon participants.
