A LOHAS block was recently opened in World City Optics Valley Pedestrian Street – located in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province.
LOHAS is an increasingly popular demographic and lifestyle – which has made it into a flourishing market – related to sustainable living, green ecological initiatives and generally composed of a relatively upscale and well-educated population segment.
The Wuhan facility is the first-ever LOHAS block in Central China and it is also the largest in terms of area and foot traffic.
With nearly 140 participating businesses in the area, the Meituan platform has utilized various traffic resources to facilitate the integration of online and offline functionality – boosting the atmosphere of the block and its retail spending.
Spanning a length of 1,350 meters, World City Optics Valley Pedestrian Street boasts a floor space of 1.6 million square meters. It encompasses a wide range of businesses – including commercial, entertainment, leisure, sports and dining establishments.
With a capacity to accommodate up to 1 million visitors at a time, the street attracts pedestrian traffic of about 150 million visits annually, making it the largest commercial real estate project in Wuhan and even in Central China.
