The Hubei Geographical Indication (GI) Operation Center was recently unveiled in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
Having a total area of 1,200 square meters, the center features a large exhibition pavilion for the province's GI products and related brands, a comprehensive operation and service area, and a press hall to provide intelligent property proper consultation, brand upgrading and marketing services for more than 600 GI trademarks and products throughout Hubei.

The center will rely on its four sub-centers for GI product think tanks, business operations, technology transfers, and branding. It will also collect professionals' insights, capital, and digital technologies to offer a slew of comprehensive services in industry consultation, planning, transformation, and integration.
So far, the province has seen 165 approved GI products, 520 GI trademarks, and 300 enterprises officially authorized to use them.
