In order to create a festive atmosphere for the approaching Chinese New Year, the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), has hung 1,455 sets of lanterns and Chinese knots (a single length of rope or cord that is tied and woven into many different shapes) on Guanshan Avenue, Minzu Avenue, Optics Valley Square, other main streets and some special pedestrian streets.
