New official inaugurated in OVC

Shu Hongbing, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was appointed as the president of the Wuhan Institute of Biotechnology, which is located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC). The inauguration ceremony was held on May 19.
Leaders from Wuhan University as well as higher-up officials from the valley's government participated in the event.
The institute is led by Wuhan University and has made use of biological resources from all Wuhan-based colleges and research institutes. It has incubated more than 180 enterprises and commercialized over 300 technological achievements.
