Two domestic data processing unit (DPU) manufacturers – YUSUR Technology Co and Corigine Inc – have established their research centers in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as the Optics Valley of China, or OVC).
DPU is a new class of programmable processor in addition to the central processing unit and the graphic processing unit. It is able to support data centers and other computing scenarios. For the past decade, the world’s computing power demand has doubled every 3.5 months. As an emerging professional processor, DPU boasts vast market prospects. In 2020, the DPU market scale had reached $2.95 billion, and it is expected to become a 100-billion-dollar business in the future.
YUSUR Tech is a leading enterprise in this area whose research teams have more than 10 years of experience. The company managed to obtain Round A and A+ financing last year, and is currently engaged in research on the third generation of DPU. It is also committed to DPU domestication.
Founded in 2015, Corigine boasts research and management teams with nearly 30 years of professional experience and is running businesses involved in IC intellectual property rights and chip designs. Corigine's cost-effective DPU has raised the scalability of computing practices for service providers and corporate cloud networks.
In addition, the company has set up R&D centers in Silicon Valley, London, Cape Town, Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing and Wuhan.
"OVC is a prestigious high-tech development zone that has attracted many leading enterprises in communication, security and internet. Its industrial chains cover the design, manufacture, materials, sale, and financing of ICs, and are more sensitive to DPU frontier technologies. Therefore, the valley will facilitate future product promotion and help us attract more high-level professionals," said an official from Corigine.
