Optics Valley of China invites global investment in IC industry

Officials from East Lake High-tech Development Zone, or Optics Valley of China (OVC), held the 2021 OVC Integrated Circuit Industry Investment and Communication Convention on July 10 in Shanghai.
Firms and investors involved in the integrated circuit sector were invited to the event from all over the world to build a global "Optics Valley". Representatives of more than 60 leading global enterprises participated in the meeting, including the presidents of Qualcomm (China) Technologies Inc, ASEN Semiconductors Co, and Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) Co.

Liu Jie, director of the OVC administrative committee, encouraged all present entrepreneurs to co-construct the future Optics Valley by investing there. Representing the government of East Lake High-tech Development Zone, she also pledged to offer potential business partners the most favorable policies, the best services, and the most conducive business environment.
"The Optics Valley's glory is made up of beams of light from each company," said Liu. She also mentioned the OVC's targets set by the Wuhan and the central governments and expressed hope that global business players would help fulfill these targets.
As one of China's four integrated circuit bases, OVC is home to a huge number of leading firms in the sector, which have achieved a series of technological breakthroughs.
