Construction work on the public health service center at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, began on June 11, according to local media reports.
Located to the east of Gaokeyuan Road and south of Shendun Second Road, the center covers a total construction area of about 18,000 square meters, including a building with six floors above ground and two floors underground.
The facility, which will include a disease prevention and control center, a sanitation supervision office, a maternity and child healthcare center and a community health service organization, is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2022.
Following completion of the project, it will further improve the disease control system in the zone and enhance the public health emergency response level.
As the first community health service organization in the core area of Optics Valley Central City, the center will provide basic medical care, preventive healthcare, health management and other services to surrounding residents after completion.
In the second half of this year, the new Jiufeng Street community health service center will be completed and put into use, and a number of community health service projects and Optics Valley People's Hospital will start construction.
