The "Yangtze Youth City" talent apartment buildings, located in East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei province, recently welcomed their first residents – roughly 2,000 employees from Lenovo's Wuhan industrial base.

According to officials from Lenovo's Wuhan industrial base, they recruited 7,000 employees during the Spring Festival holiday, and nearly 2,000 of them need dormitories.

After approval from the zone, these employees moved to the apartments from March 3 to 4.

The "Yangtze Youth City", located at Fenghuang Mountain, is Optics Valley's largest rental housing program dedicated to meeting the housing needs of talented workers. The city has another such program in northern Hankou.

The Optics Valley "Yangtze Youth City" started construction in 2018 and covers an area of 280,000 square meters. It boasts 12 apartment buildings with 5,586 rooms, which can accommodate up to 23,000 people.

The buildings are equipped with shared kitchens, laundry rooms, activity rooms, coffee and book bars, as well as other living service facilities.
