An employment and entrepreneurship promotion activity for 2021 national college graduates was held on Dec 2 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- in Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province -- with representatives from universities in China participating in talks to boost cooperation with the zone's resident enterprises.

During the event representatives from more than 200 universities visited the zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China -- and the zone's resident companies.

A total of 25 enterprises and representatives from 15 universities participated in a subsequent cooperation promotion conference.

About 10 Optics Valley companies signed contracts with universities.

Of these, Xiamen University reached a preliminary agreement to work with Wuhan Dameng Database Co Ltd, a leading enterprise in the domestic database industry.

Elsewhere, China Pharmaceutical University has reached a similar agreement with Humanwell Healthcare (Group) Company.

With over 100,000 market entities, the zone has developed two world-class industrial clusters, offering more than 200,000 job demands every year.

It is implementing its "3551 Optics Valley Talent Schema" to support talent innovation and entrepreneurship.

And it has taken the initiative and set up a service window for college students to apply to stay and work in Wuhan and also established a job recruitment platform for college students.

The zone currently stages more than 20 online and offline recruitment activities every year.

Since April this year, Wuhan city has held a series of activities to help enterprises offering 145,000 job opportunities.

It has also set up a China Optics Valley scholarship and established scholarships in colleges and universities, while also encouraging college students to start up businesses and apply for employment in the zone.
