Four enterprises resident in East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China and located in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province -- recently made onto the national-level list for pilot firms for network security technology applications in 2020, according to local media reports.

The list, which comprised 177 projects, was announced on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Nov 10.

Five companies in Hubei province made the list, focusing on the security of new information infrastructure, including the four from Optics Valley.

Theses Optics Valley ventures are internet projects connected to vehicle security, smart city security and big data security.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has been carrying out the pilot demonstration program since last year.

It aims to help develop application scenarios for the integration and innovation of new generation information technology and network security technology.

It also aims to select and promote best practices and solutions for network security – as well as to promote the development of network security education, technology and industry integration and to promote the development of the network security industry, while strengthening the security capabilities of new information infrastructure.

And all these projects are divided into three key directions: new information infrastructure security, public services for network security and high-end technology innovation platforms for network security.
