Wuhan municipal government and Wuhan Industrial Investment Development Group Co Ltd signed cooperation agreements with tech giant Huawei on Nov 21 to build a Wuhan cloud.
It marked another round of cooperation in critical projects between Wuhan and Huawei, after the cooperation and recent launch of the Yangtze Kunpeng ecosystem innovation center there.
Huawei will integrate 5G, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and other new-generation information technologies to build the Wuhan cloud to a high standard, to provide Wuhan with smart city cloud infrastructure and services.
On April 30, Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wuhan for a Kunpeng ecosystem. In September, the Yangtze Kunpeng ecosystem innovation center was officially opened in East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China -- in Wuhan.
The Kunpeng computing industry is a full-stack IT infrastructure based on the Kunpeng processor, as well as industrial applications and services.
Wuhan and Huawei also signed a strategic cooperation agreement for the joint creation of a national new-generation AI innovation development pilot zone at the same time the Kunpeng cooperation was established.
Together with the development of the Wuhan cloud, it is clear that in-depth cooperation between the two sides is increasing.
The overall development of 5G and the industrial internet is accelerating. Relying on the advantages brought by Wuhan's development, Huawei will speed up the second phase construction of its Wuhan research institute and the Kunpeng ecosystem innovation center.
It would also speed up the construction of China's first AI center in Wuhan and strive to develop the Wuhan cloud into a new business calling card, promoting Wuhan's development.
