The 20th Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Development in China was held on Nov 19 in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China, located in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province -- attracting the participation of over 200 overseas Chinese from 46 countries and regions, alongside a number of locals.
There were both online and offline venues for this year's conference and nearly 1,000 intention projects at home and abroad have been received by the organizers, including ventures in the fields of biomedicine and optoelectronics.
In the morning, 20 projects were inked at a signing ceremony for key projects -- among them, eight with a total investment of about 3.5 billion yuan ($532.35 million) which committed to settling in Optics Valley.
With an investment of 3 billion yuan, Tus-Holdings Co Ltd, or TusHoldings, announced it would establish a branch venture in the zone. A business enterprise from Beijing's Tsinghua University, TusHoldings will focus on emergency technology, network security, environmental protection, digital economy, chip designs and other fields.
In addition, two Optics Valley companies held investment roadshows on a projects roadshow link in the afternoon.
