A group of 40 senior executives from multinational companies showed up on Sept 5 at a charity fun run to promote a healthy lifestyle, organized by the East Lake High-tech Development Zone -- also known as Optics Valley of China -- which is located in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province.

By attending the run, representatives of the province and its capital -- together with the top corporate leaders -- also hoped to demonstrate their confidence in the progress being made towards the return to a normal life post the novel coronavirus epidemic.

The participants started from the Baima service center, which serves as the northern gateway for the 101.98 kilometers-long East Lake Greenway.

The senior corporate executives were in town, because the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries had organized delegations from 20 multinational companies to visit Wuhan on Sept 3-5.
