2025 Cross-Strait Calligraphy and Painting Public Exhibition
2025-12-12
The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of Taiwan's restoration to the motherland.
People on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are Chinese, sharing common historical memories, cultural traditions, and a spiritual homeland. Chinese calligraphy and paintings are vital components of Chinese culture and are treasured artistic gems of the Chinese nation. Calligraphy and paintings share the same roots, with expressive brushwork conveying profound meaning, embodying national spirit and integrity.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Taiwan's restoration to the motherland, institutions from both sides have collaborated to host the "2025 Cross-Strait Calligraphy and Painting Public Exhibition" in both Taiwan and the Chinese mainland.
This exhibition features over one hundred calligraphy and painting works that resonate across the ages, embodying a grand spirit and promoting righteousness. Artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait use traditional Chinese calligraphy and paintings as a medium to reflect the enduring cultural essence. These arts capture the national spirit of resilience, unity, and patriotism demonstrated by the people on both sides during the war of the resistance against Japanese imperialist aggression and colonial rule. They express profound love and attachment to their motherland and a deep, sincere patriotic sentiment, honoring the forebears who contributed to national independence and liberation, and voicing a powerful call for self-improvement and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
This exhibition aims to deepen cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, jointly inherit and promote Chinese culture, and carry forward the great national spirit.
