Longxing New City in Liangjiang New Area has unveiled its first urban greenway, offering a picturesque route that links the area's natural landscapes, modern cityscapes, local cuisine, and recreational activities.
The 4.2-kilometer greenway, stretching from Longgang Avenue Station on Metro Line 15 to Longyi Avenue Station on Metro Line 4, is a key corridor for daily commuting, leisure, and community interaction. It also plans to include landscape enhancements, such as adding flowering trees like Prunus mume and tree roses.
The greenway connects several key urban landmarks, including the Longxing Football Stadium and Longxing Outdoor Recreation Center, enabling residents to walk, cycle, jog, and shop along the route, with five shared bicycle parking areas and approximately 300 parking spaces.
When Phase 1 of Metro Line 15 becomes operational, commuters will enjoy seamless "rail-and-walk" connectivity, easily transitioning from the metro to the greenway to reach nearby parks and enterprises.
This greenway represents a significant step in enhancing Longxing New City's urban functionality. A local official highlighted the government's commitment to creating a more livable, accessible, and business-friendly city.
Longxing New City has developed 2.3 million square meters of parkland, including themed parks like Longwan Forest Park and Fenbi Park. Additional projects, such as the Lujiagou Wetland Park and the ecological park east of Longxing Paradise Walk, are currently under construction.
