Hu Chunhua, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team of members from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Areas of the CPPCC National Committee to survey Jilin province from June 1 to 4.

Focusing on promoting deep integrated development of rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries and cultivating distinctive rural industries, the team visited Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture and Baishan city in the province.

They conducted field visits to villages, breeding bases, agro-enterprises and production workshops. They held in-depth discussions with local officials, farmers, enterprise representatives and agricultural researchers to review local progress in industrial integration, specialty agriculture, deep processing of agricultural and medicinal products, as well as the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism.

The team members affirmed that Jilin has focused on the core task of rural industrial revitalization, continuously promoting complementary and interconnected development across rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries. The province has worked to extend industrial chains, enhance value chains and refine benefit-sharing mechanisms, achieving steady progress and sound momentum in rural industrial development, they noted.

The team members stressed that since developing distinctive rural industries serves as a crucial pathway for advancing all-around rural vitalization, the CPPCC should give full play to its role in this sector. Efforts should focus on fostering distinctive industries tailored to local conditions, driving deep cross-sector integration in rural areas, strengthening agricultural sci-tech innovation and application and refining industry support policies and mechanisms for benefiting farmers through agricultural development. By actively performing their duties and offering advice, and by carrying forward the work of consolidating consensus, rallying public support, pooling wisdom and channeling strength, the CPPCC will contribute its wisdom and strength toward all-around rural vitalization and the accelerated building of an agricultural power, they said.
