A delegation from the Committee on Proposals of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited the Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) on Jan 28.

The delegation aimed to gain an understanding of the TDSL Central Committee's proposal work, solicit their opinions and suggestions on improving the proposal work of the CPPCC National Committee, and further enhance exchanges between the Committee on Proposals and the TDSL Central Committee. Su Hui, vice-chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee and chairperson of the TDSL Central Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Su stated that the TDSL Central Committee has thoroughly studied and implemented the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The league has prioritized proposal work in fulfilling its duties, and has leveraged its unique strengths in connection with Taiwan compatriots to conduct research, resulting in a large number of tangible outcomes, Su added.

Taking this visit as an opportunity, the TDSL Central Committee will keep focusing on the central tasks of the Party and the State and continuously enhance the quality of its proposal work, so as to contribute to the complete reunification of the country and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Su noted.

At the seminar held during the visit, Liu Jiayi, head of the Committee on Proposals, provided an update on the proposal work of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and considerations for this year's proposal work. Representatives from relevant departments of the TDSL Central Committee gave an overview of the league's proposal work and the preparations for the proposals they plan to submit to the fourth session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on proposal work.

Since the beginning of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, the TDSL Central Committee has submitted a total of 80 collective proposals on various topics, including high-quality development and cross-Strait integration and development. Among these, 16 proposals were selected as key proposals by the CPPCC National Committee, with proposals from the league selected as the CPPCC National Committee's proposals of the year every year.
