On May 16, the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant — the largest operating nuclear power base by installed capacity in Fujian province — surpassed cumulative electricity generation of 400 billion kWh safely.

With six operating units, the plant generates over 50 billion kWh annually, saving 15.27 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 40.02 million tons each year — equivalent to adding nearly 113,000 hectares of forest annually.
Between 2014 and 2017, Units 1–4 were successively put into commercial operation at a pace of one unit per year. Unit 5, the world's first Hualong One reactor, also set a global record for the shortest construction period for first-of-a-kind Generation III nuclear projects, completed construction in just 68.7 months and establishing the renowned "Fuqing Speed", driven by both safety and innovation.

Today, Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant continues advancing its strategy of intensification, standardization, and digital intelligence to enhance operational efficiency and modern governance. The plant is developing a more efficient and collaborative management system, integrating Hualong One best practices into industry standards, and aligning management with international benchmarks. By applying 5G, artificial intelligence, and big data technologies, it is also accelerating the development of a smarter, safer, and more efficient world-class nuclear power base.
