On Aug 28, Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met in Beijing with a delegation led by Esmond Burdett Moses, speaker of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia, who was in China to attend the Micronesian Parliamentarians Seminar.

Chen said that China regards Micronesia as a good friend, good partner and good brother, and supports Micronesia in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security and development interests and pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions.
He noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, the China-Micronesia comprehensive strategic partnership has maintained a sound and steady development momentum in recent years.
Chen said that CIDCA stands ready to work with Micronesia to continue to deepen bilateral practical development cooperation, advance the implementation of the Global Development Initiative in Micronesia and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.

Moses spoke highly of the remarkable progress achieved in bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties. He also expressed gratitude to China for its strong support and assistance for Micronesia's economic and social development as well as the improvement of its people's livelihoods.
He said that Micronesia is willing to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and continue to deepen practical cooperation with China in such fields as infrastructure, climate change response and green energy development, so as to further advance the development of Micronesia-China relations.
