The Chinese medical assistance team to Cape Verde held a free clinic on the island of Boa Vista on July 17.
Chinese Ambassador to Cape Verde Zhang Yang and First Lady of Cape Verde Debora Katisa Carvalho attended the event.

Zhang said that over the past 42 years, 22 Chinese medical teams consisting of 162 medical workers have traveled to remote areas across Cape Verde to provide free medical services, significantly boosting the country's medical care capabilities.
Emphasizing that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cape Verde, he said that China is ready to take this important opportunity to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Cape Verde in healthcare and other fields, so as to elevate the bilateral strategic partnership to a new level.

The Cape Verde side expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese embassy and the Chinese medical assistance teams for their long-term contributions to the development of the nation's healthcare sector. They also voiced anticipation for continued in-depth cooperation with China to further advance the country's healthcare development.
