On July 20, 2026, the Handover Ceremony of China-Aided Emergency Food Assistance to South Sudan was held in Juba. H.E. Ambassador MA Qiang, Hon. Albino Akol Atak, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and Hon. Stephen Kueth Gach, National Chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, along with other officials, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks.

Ambassador MA Qiang noted that this year marks the 15th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of South Sudan. The 3,256 metric tons of rice and wheat donated by China marks a key step in implementing the "Ten Partnership Actions" unveiled at the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and demonstrates China's firm support for South Sudan in overcoming difficulties and achieving development. This year also marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
