China starts delivering first batch of earthquake relief supplies to Venezuela

On July 5, the first batch of emergency humanitarian earthquake relief supplies provided by the Chinese government to Venezuela departed from the Beijing Capital International Airport for Caracas, the capital of Venezuela.

The supplies weigh 80 tons, including 20 generators, 8 water purification vehicles, 200 disinfection devices, 200 sets of solar lighting equipment, over 1,700 tents and more than 6,700 blankets. The remaining relief supplies will be dispatched in the coming days.

The two powerful earthquakes in Venezuela have resulted in significant casualties and property damage. In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, the Chinese government promptly provided emergency humanitarian cash assistance to Venezuela and then decided to offer the country additional emergency humanitarian relief supplies worth 100 million yuan ($14.73 million).
