CIDCA chairman meets new Mozambican ambassador to China

Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with newly appointed Ambassador of Mozambique to China Manuel Jose Goncalves on May 22.

Chen congratulated the envoy on his new position and emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two nations, noting that they have trusted and supported each other since the establishment of diplomatic relations, and have achieved fruitful results in development cooperation.

During the recent visit of Mozambican President Daniel Chapo to China, the two heads of state agreed to elevate the relations between both sides to a China-Mozambique community with a shared future for the new era, he added.

Chen expressed the CIDCA's readiness to work with Mozambique to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen development cooperation and better benefit the two peoples.

Noting that China is a trustworthy partner to Mozambique, Goncalves stressed the blossoming bilateral relations under the guidance of the two heads of state. He expressed gratitude for China's long-term support for the economic development of Mozambique and the improvement of its people's well-being.

Goncalves expressed his nation's readiness to work with the CIDCA to further development cooperation and to advance bilateral relations.

Both sides also exchanged views on specific development cooperation projects.
