The winners of the 15th WuXiAppTec Life Science and Chemistry Awards are announced on Dec 18. Among them are six members of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC).

Launched in 2007, the WuXiAppTec Life Science and Chemistry Awards aims at honoring science and technology professionals in life chemistry and related fields who have made outstanding achievements in research innovation, promotion of research results and industrial application of high-end and latest technologies.

Winners of the Outstanding Achievement Award

Xu Chenqi

Research fellow of the Centre for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science at the CAS and committee member of the Membrane Biology Academic Subgroup at the BSC

Xu did a systematic and in-depth study on the synergy of multiple receptors involved in the immune response process of T cells, elaborated on new regulation mechanisms of immune responses of T cells and put forward novel theories and strategies concerning tumor immunotherapy, providing a theoretical basis for the further development of this discipline.

Xiao Junyu

Research fellow of the School of Life Sciences at Peking University and committee member of the Molecular Biophysics Academic Subgroup at the BSC

Xiao elucidated the structural biological basis of the assembly and transport of IgM and IgA, as well as their identification by streptococcus pneumoniae proteins, and analyzed the molecular mechanism of neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, laying the ground for developing antibodies with high activity and REGN-COV2 design.

Research fellow of the Institute of Biophysics at the CAS and secretary-general of the Academic Subgroup of Infection and Immunity at the BSC

Project: Immune-regulatory mechanisms of the microenvironment of lymphoid organs and design of lymph node-targeting nanovaccine 

Zheng Mingyue

Research fellow of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica at the CAS and a member of the BSC
