2. Biophysics Reports (www.biophysics-reports.org)

Founded in 1985, the Biophysics Reports is a peer-review open access journal. It provides a worldwide platform for publishing novel theories, methods, protocols and significant improvements in basic research techniques covering multidisciplinary areas in the biological and biomedical sciences.

It is sponsored by the BSC and the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences -- or CAS -- and is published online by SpringerLink.

In 2019, the BSC published five Biophysics Reports journals, containing 25 articles and 264 pages.

It is a journal included in the Chinese Science Citation Database, or the CSCD. In the 2019 CSCD-JCR report, its impact factor was 0.6087, ranking it 24th among 80 journals in the life sciences.

The BSC self-rated the journal's impact factor for 2019 to be 2.3, which was at a moderate level under the SCI-Biophysical Technology subdirectory.

Moving forwards, the BSC plans to urge editorial committees to increase their efforts to reach higher standards in the number of articles and the number of articles published internationally.

It plans to consider changing the publishing mode from aggregate publishing single edition publishing to continuous online publishing widely adopted by international open access publications -- and apply for SCI journals inclusion.

3. Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics (www.pibb.ac.cn)

Founded in 1974, the journal is an open access Chinese journal. In SCI citation data published in 2019, the journal articles were cited 305 times, with an impact factor of 0.219.

The Chinese S&T Journal Citation Reports (Core Edition) 2019 points out that the journal was cited 725 times in 2019, with an impact factor of 0.429 and a comprehensive evaluation score of 55.1, ranking it sixth in its category of journals.

In the SCI Journal Subarea Table of 2019 -- issued by the Document and Information Research Center of CAS -- the journal rose from the Q4 to Q3 category in the SCI journal partition table published last year by the National Science Library, CAS.
