NJU Wei Lab invites top undergraduates to join in research

Updated: 2020-06-15

Professor Wei Hui's laboratory at Nanjing University (NJU) has invited top undergraduates to join and engage in frontier nanozymes research, according to NJU officials.

Interested participants are welcome to enroll in the summer school at NJU's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the application deadline is June 28.

University officials said research by the Wei group is at the interface of biomedical sciences and engineering, chemistry, materials sciences and nanotechnology.

Officials said they are designing and developing functional materials for human health, environment and energy-related applications. They are also applying nanotechnology -- combined with other emerging techniques -- to address demanding and daunting challenges in many areas, such as disease diagnostics and therapeutics.

Dr Wei Hui is a professor in College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Nanjing University. He has published over 90 papers in peer-reviewed international journals.

His work has been cited more than 7,000 times with an H-index of 40 and his research interests are focused on functional nanomaterials and new methodology for analytical and biomedical applications.

Dr Hui has received numerous honors and awards, including the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) (2015) and the Shuangchuang Program Award of Jiangsu Province (2014).

Others include the Thousand Talents Program Award for Young Researchers (2012) and the Excellent Prize of the President Scholarship of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (2009). Currently, he serves as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports.

Requirements for applicants:

Possess great enthusiasm and a spirit of exploration for scientific research.

Professional background in chemistry, materials, biology, medicine, computers, physics, electronics, etc.
