'Maker in China' competition held in Beijing E-Town

The final of the 9th "Maker in China" Information Technology Application Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises was recently held at the National Information Technology Application Innovation Park in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).

Over 300 representatives from investment and financing institutions, government authorities and media outlets, as well as industry experts, attended the event.

Since the competition started in June, it has received high attention and active participation from all sectors of society. A total of 75 enterprise projects and 25 maker projects have advanced to the finals. These projects cover key industry chains such as high-end equipment, new-generation information technology, biomedicine, new energy and aerospace.

To further strengthen the connection between the supply and demand of scientific and technological achievements, and to promote the landing, transformation and industrial application of excellent project results, a series of activities for showcasing and exchanging participating projects were held simultaneously with the final. Multiple participating projects from nine areas -- finance, energy, transportation, security, education, healthcare, water conservancy, software application ecosystems and "AI+" innovative applications -- attracted the attention of investment institutions, laying the foundation for future investment and financing cooperation.

As of the end of September, Beijing E-Town has gathered 918 municipal specialized, refined and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises, with a total of 154 national-level specialized, refined, and innovative "little giant" enterprises, placing it among the top in national economic-technological development zones.

By hosting this competition, Beijing E-Town will further nurture a group of outstanding enterprises and teams in the field of information technology application innovation, stimulate the innovative vitality and development potential of small and medium-sized enterprises, and contribute to enhancing their information technology innovation capabilities, accelerating product upgrades, promoting talent development and optimizing industrial ecosystems.
