As spring break approaches, Huizhou district in Huangshan, Anhui province, is inviting families to trade the classroom for tea gardens, ancient villages and flower houses, with a set of study tours designed for children early this month.

The routes turn spring into something children can truly step into and learn from. In the tea fields, they can carry small bamboo baskets and pick fresh leaves before discovering how tea is made. In the hills, they can dig bamboo shoots and feel the season arriving in the soil and forest. In old Huizhou villages, they can dress up in hanfu, learn traditional etiquette, explore ancient architecture and join fish lantern night tours that bring old streets to life.

For many children, the journey may last only a few days. But the scent of spring tea, the glow of lanterns and the joy of making things by hand could linger much longer.
