Xiamen in East China's Fujian province saw a boom in foreign trade in the first 10 months of 2018, with its total volume exceeding 4.5 billion yuan ($652 million), up by 7.7 percent year-on-year.
The city's export volume surged 11.7 percent year-on-year to 3.8 billion yuan in the same period, with textile and clothing being the main export products. Spirits, zinc ore and marble were Xiamen's main imports from the European country.
Xiamen enjoys a long history of exchanges with Spain. As early as 2005, the city established friendly relations with Las Palmas, a port city in Spain, which, like Xiamen, also boasts a prosperous tourism industry.
China has extended its 240-hour visa-free transit policy and Hainan's 30-day visa-free entry policy to citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam, the National Immigration Administration said on Aug 20.
