Shanxi University (SXU) rose up the ranking of Chinese universities publishing papers last year, according to SXU officials.

SXU ranked 45th in the list of universities publishing papers in journals for the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) -- recently released by the China Scientific Literature Evaluation Research Center at Nanjing University.

Over the past year, Shanxi University published 390 papers in journals listed in the CSSCI -- which is an influential citation index in Chinese academic circles.

This was six more than that published in 2018 and its ranking rose by two places.
