Student Li Fuqiang wins first prize at short video contest

Li Fuqiang, an undergraduate from the School of Journalism at Shanxi University, won the first prize at the first Xuanyuan Cup National University Students Short Video Contest, which concluded at Henan University in Central China’s Henan province on Dec 7.

The contest, jointly sponsored by the School of Journalism and Broadcasting at Henan University, Henan Daily Group and Henan Genwenchuang Culture Creation Development Co, had a theme “carry forward the outstanding Chinese traditional culture represented by the Yellow Emperor culture. It aimed to encourage young students to follow the traces of ancestors with lenses, lead the spiritual return with images, and explain the essence of culture with videos.

The contest received a total of more than 200 works from colleges and universities across the country. The works tell unique Chinese stories in the form of documentaries, animations, paper-cut comics, and others.

The work of Xiangyou Shuoshuren by Li Fuqiang from SXU stood out among more than 40 shortlisted works, winning the first prize.

In addition, Zhao Ruisuo, deputy dean of the School of Journalism of SXU, was invited to attend the awarding ceremony and a seminar on cultivation of journalists.
