South Korean university delegation visits SXU

A delegation led by Ryu Du-Hyun, vice-principal of Jeonju University in South Korea, paid a visit to Shanxi University on Nov 28, according to SXU officials.

SXU officials said senior staff from the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department, the Graduate School, the Teaching Affairs Department and the College of Fine Art met with the delegation.

Party secretary Fu Huiming on behalf of SXU conveyed a warm welcome to the delegates and expressed his hope that teaching and scientific research cooperation would strengthen in the future.

At the meeting between officials of the two universities, a cooperation memorandum of understanding was signed.

Officials said it involved specific cooperation issues on free exchange student programs, master-doctoral study programs, teacher training programs, mutual teacher visiting programs and scientific research cooperation programs.

A nameplate unveiling ceremony for the South Korean Culture Center of Jeonju University was held at the College of Fine Art after the meeting.

Shanxi University vice-principal Zhou Xiaoji said he hoped that the cultural center would serve as a bridge and link between Shanxi University and Jeonju University, to promote the cooperation and exchange between the two universities.
