At a meeting between professor Paulus and teachers and students at the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, developments in the discipline of chemistry and training of personnel were discussed.

Professor Paulus also discussed academic exchanges and cooperation between undergraduates, graduate students and visiting scholars at the Free University of Berlin.

In addition, the two sides studied possible scientific research cooperation mechanisms and joint graduate training models.

On the afternoon of Nov 15, a ceremony to celebrate professor Paulus’ appointment as visiting professor of Shanxi University was held.

Li Sidian, deputy Party secretary of Shanxi University on behalf of SXU conferred the letter of offer to professor Paulus.

Professor Paulus also presented an academic report entitled "Surface Science - An Insight from Theory".

In the report, she expounded on the rich research results her team had achieved over the years.

She also demonstrated the multi-dimensional applications of theoretical model methods in the field of material interface and catalytic process calculations, discovery, characterization and design.
