Shanxi University cooperates with USTC

Shanxi University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the University of Science and Technology of China in Taiyuan, capital city of North China’s Shanxi province, on Nov 17.

According to the agreement, SXU and USTC will continue to expand their existing in-depth cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, scientific research, resource sharing and academic exchanges.

They will give full play to their respective advantages to conduct extensive cooperation in basic research, engineering applications and industrialization in quantum computing.

Other fields of joint endeavor are quantum communications, cold atomic physics, precision measurement, photon quantum devices, archaeology and cultural relic protection.

They will also strengthen their cooperation in the construction of national scientific platforms and the declaration of major key projects, as well as enhancing the ability of the two universities to serve national strategies and regional economic and social development.

Dignitaries at the ceremony included Zhang Fuming, vice governor of the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government; Bao Xin, principal of the University of Science and Technology of China; Zhang Jingping, deputy Party secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Education Working committee; Huang Guitian, principal of Shanxi University and Lu Yuhong, vice-principal of SXU.

The attendees also paid a visit to the Shanxi University History Museum the same day to learn about its history, development and future planning.
