The founding ceremony of the Dalian Alumni Association of Shanxi University was held in the Dalian Haichuang Technology Center on Nov 10, with the attendance of more than 20 alumni from Dalian in Northeast China’s Liaoning province.

At the ceremony, alumni representatives reviewed and approved the Charter of the Dalian Alumni Association of Shanxi University.

Wang Huitao, who graduated from Shanxi University in 1993, was elected as the chairman of the first council of the alumni association.

Yang Deming who graduated in 1979 and Zhao Yan who graduated in 1985 were elected vice chairmen. Chen Peng, who graduated in 1995, was elected as secretary general.

Hu Libin, general secretary of Shanxi University Alumni Association, on behalf of Shanxi University, conveyed warm congratulations to the founding of the association.

He talked about SXU’s development and changes in recent years and its current goals and tasks. Hu expressed hopes that the Dalian alumni could help further boost communications between alumni and SXU.
