Professor Lin Er’rong from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore presented his findings about the challenges of "shared decision-making" in the doctor-patient relations model, when he gave a presentation at Shanxi University on Nov 6, SXU officials said.

The academic report -- entitled "Theory and Practice: Reflecting the Value of Conversational Analysis in Health Communication Research" -- mainly analyzed how medical decisions were generated and who was the leader.

It also examined how to communicate effectively to achieve the patient-centered care and shared decision-making in doctor-patient relations in modern medical ethics.

The study aims to review the difficulties of communications theory in practical operations and improve the practicality of health communications research.
