Shanxi University, also known as SXU, held a meeting on Oct 29, to promote its work in supporting Taiyuan city’s moves to become a national culturally advanced city.

Li Fuming, deputy Party secretary of SXU, presided over the meeting. Directors from related departments attended.

Li said that with strong support from the Shanxi provincial government, Taiyuan is now accelerating its work in building itself up a national culturally advanced city.

In an evaluation conducted in 2018, Taiyuan was praised highly for its work and SXU should continue to participate in, support and coordinate the city’s work, Li added.

Li made a series of suggestions at the meeting, officials said.

These included improving the university’s environment and transportation, optimizing student volunteer services and raising teacher and student awareness of building Taiyuan into a national culturally advanced city.

At the meeting, directors from the university’s publicity department gave a briefing SXU’s current work and plans for supporting the work, detailing work plans from various departments.
