The Science Park of Shanxi University was included among provincial demonstration bases for the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, according to a list released by the Science and Technology Department of North China’s Shanxi province on Sept 27.

Shanxi University Science Park was established in 2012. In 2016, Shanxi University Asset Management Company established the SXU Science Park Company to conduct marketization operations.

Officials said that with rapid development in recent years, SXU Science Park has established a platform to effectively connect the university's scientific and technological resources with the wider market demands for social scientific and technological innovation.

Officials said the park has gradually become an important force for promoting the commercialization of SXU’s scientific and technological achievements – for accelerating the construction of Shanxi’s economic innovation system, while serving regional social development.

They added that in the wake of its inclusion on the provincial demonstration base list, SXU Science Park’s plan is to more actively serve the current strategic objectives of Shanxi province – as well as play an active role in driving the development of the surrounding areas and industries.
