SXU dance staged at Lotus Award Performances

Updated: 2019-09-06

A Taohua Yijiu performance was put on by the School of Music of Shanxi University (SXU) at the 12th Lotus Award Performances, which were held in Liangshan Yi autonomous region, Southwest China’s Sichuan province, from Aug 8 to 10.

The dance takes elements from Zuoquan Xiaohua Opera and celebrates women of the Taihang Mountain region.

The dance was co-edited by Zhao Linchun and Zhao Jiani, dance professors at SXU’s School of Music, and performed by SXU dance students.

Taohua Yijiu is the only dance from Shanxi province to be performed at the Lotus Awards.

The Lotus Awards, jointly founded by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Dancers Association in 1997, have become the most prestigious dance awards in China.
