Shanxi University was awarded with the Outstanding Contribution Award for its excellent services for the 2nd Youth Games of the People's Republic of China, according to an awards ceremony held at the university on Aug 17.

The cultural and sports hall of Shanxi University was the host site of the men’s volleyball competition for the national youth games, held on Aug 9-17. The university provided all-round competition support and services, gaining recognition and praise from the Youth Sports Division of the National Sports General Administration and the Shanxi Provincial Education Department.

At the finals of the volleyball competition, the Shandong team won the first place, followed by the Beijing team and the Jiangsu team.
