SXU students shine at national life sciences competition

Shanxi University shone at the 4th National Collegiate Life Sciences Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, with seven student projects winning prizes.

Three out of 10 projects from Shanxi University entered the finals after being reviewed during the preliminaries and semifinals.

Throughout the three-day final at Jilin University from July 18 to 20, a project on the R&D of nostoc commune polysaccharides for anti-colorectal cancer carried out by the College of Life Sciences at Shanxi University won the Outstanding Award.

Shanxi University received the Excellent Organization Award for the first time and ranked highly with two first-place prizes, two second-place prizes, and two third-place prizes.

The competition, which received 3,987 entries, aims to serve as an innovation and entrepreneurship platform for college and university students across China majoring in life sciences.
