The inauguration ceremony for Shanxi University's new R&D and pilot test base took place at Taiyuan Solid Waste Disposal Center on July 9.

Officials from Shanxi University, Shanxi Dadi Environment Investment Holdings and the Taiyuan Solid Waste Disposal Center attended the ceremony.

They visited the center's incineration workshop, landfill site and central control room, learning about waste disposal technology, hazardous waste incineration as well as other related things including landfill and sewage treatment.

Cheng Fangqin, vice-president of Shanxi University, told the ceremony that the business-university partnership was a new platform for university staff and the commercialization of technological achievements. She said the partnership would help boost the economy of Taiyuan city and improve the local environment.
