Innovation, entrepreneurship contest held at SXU

Shanxi University held its fifth "Internet Plus" Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on June 16.

This year's competition attracted 1,451 participants in 181 teams, making it the biggest-ever event held to date.

After two weeks of anonymous online reviews, 121 projects were selected to reach the finals on June 16. After on-site evaluation by 25 experts, 33 projects won the first prize, 36 won the second prize and 52 the third prize.

The university's School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Education Science, Department of Electronic Information Engineering and School of Software won the Outstanding Organization Award in the competition. A total of 39 teachers were rewarded with an Outstanding Instructor Award.

In addition, 16 projects were recommended to the 5th Shanxi provincial “Internet Plus” Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.

Organizers said that as a trial of the "Internet Plus" Collegiate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition at the provincial and national level, the event at Shanxi University achieved important things.

They said it laid a solid foundation for further enhancing the innovation and entrepreneurship abilities of students, demonstrated the achievements of the university's innovation and entrepreneurship and built a business matchmaking platform for excellent projects and social investment.

The university will next hold a summer training camp to prepare for the upcoming provincial and national innovation and entrepreneurship competitions.
