SXU voluntary service program wins national award

Shanxi University's voluntary service program themed around the prevention of AIDS and education targeting undergraduates in Taiyuan won the silver award in the fourth Chinese Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition which was held in Deyang, Sichuan province, from Nov 30 to Dec 2.

The competition, which was carried out in open reviews and presentations, attracted entries from 590 voluntary service programs. SXU’s volunteer representatives introduced the development, honors and social influence of the university's AIDS prevention events and answered judges' questions.

More than 7,000 people from voluntary service programs, government departments, social organizations, charities, companies and foundations took part in the competition.
